Want a full rundown? Check out our Prelaunch Preview for this launch! - everydayastronaut.com/prelaunch-preview-falcon-heavy-stp-2/
SpaceX will be launching the Space Test Program 2 (STP-2) rideshare mission for the U.S. Air Force’s Space and Missile Systems Center on a Falcon Heavy rocket. This Falcon Heavy is composed of a new block 5 center core (B1057) and the two block 5 side boosters (B1052 & B1053) from the Arabsat-6A mission.
The launch window for this mission opens at 11:30 PM EDT on June 24, 2019 and is 4 hours in duration. The Falcon Heavy will be lifting off from Launch Complex 39A (LC-39A) at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. After burning for about 2 and a half minutes, the side boosters will separate from the core booster and boost back to the launch site for a landing at Landing Zones 1 & 2 (LZ-1 & LZ-2). The core booster will continue burning for another minute, before shutting down and separating from the second stage. The core booster will be landing approximately 1,240 km (771 miles) downrange on Autonomous Spaceport Drone Ship, Of Course I Still Love You (OCISLY).

@Andy Dillbeck what's a Stargate? (It's like midnight for me)
Andy Dillbeck
Andy Dillbeck Pirms 5 dienām
@Starhopper oh, probably, I'm just saying what it looked like. Obviously it's not a real Stargate. If Elon had a real Stargate, he wouldn't be building Starship. He could just use Falcon Heavy to send one Stargate to Mars, and forget all this launching business.
Starhopper Pirms 5 dienām
@Andy Dillbeck the Stargate? Don't you mean the LOX (I think) tank
Starhopper Pirms 5 dienām
@Andrew S I thought that was just a video glitch

I will NEVER forget this launch. It was our first one, so I bought my dad and I the most expensive tickets for Father’s Day, and we watched it launch with the Saturn V sitting right behind us. Words can not describe a launch, they’re just absolutely amazing. Go see one. This one literally changed the whole course of my life.

It still amazes me when the NAShA Fanboys brag about Fake-X! A bunch of dim-wits that have no ability of critical thought, while they talk of 'Progress' or 'Evolving', when nothing could be further from the truth!!! Progress? NAShA says the Impossible Apollo left LEO, traversed the VARB's, and made the trip to land on the 'moon' 240,000 miles away, 50 years ago and using an aluminium can to do it. Today, with advancements to EVERY system available to Apollo, no Agency in any country can leave Low Earth Orbit or even go more than 200 miles above the surface of Earth! *FACT!* De-fund and dismantle the NAShA liars and thieves, and stop funding Fake-X to deploy this 5G kill-grid on the worlds Peoples!

Thank you and Happy New Year and continued success.

Elon Reeve Musk é um empreendedor, filantropo e visionário sul-africano-canadense-americano. Ele é o fundador, CEO e CTO da SpaceX; CEO da Tesla Motors; vice-presidente da OpenAI; fundador e CEO da Neuralink; e co-fundador e presidente da SolarCity.

Its interesting that NASA had to use SRB's & here SpaceX isn't using them, yet they can achieve potentially just as much.
John Wythe
John Wythe Pirms 4 Mēnešiem
I believe SRB’s provide a higher thrust to weight ratio, and they are way less complex. They have one big disadvantage once started they can’t be shutoff. The other big con is they give a rougher ride than liquid fueled rockets.

Hi Tim, 23:40 About the "...please grow up" comment. Anyone who dreams of, thinks of, works on or even loves to watch rocket launches is a child with only one thought in mind. Anyone who has "other thoughts" that do not concern space and everything mind boggling we could find out there, isn't a child anymore. They are teenagers in mind and should be watching other video sites. 23:55 Oh...that's what Big Brother looks like. 35:40 "we've turned off 1 engine on each of the side boosters..." Yes, Tim...if you're gonna have 100 engines and CAN NOT shut one down at will, then might as well make 1 engine 100 times bigger. Also, being able to do things you've never heard of before is what's being done everyday on sci-fi movies and tv shows...unless you never watch those. 42:40 Watching side boosters landing might be the "coolest thing" for you, but for us older guys who are used to seeing dropships take-off and land...this is like watching a historical document. 41:10 Center core didn't successfully land. As with their other failures, i expect Space X to find the solution. If i may...i suggest you slow down MORE, and sooner. Unless you overshot. In which case i would suggest revisiting the landing sequence software, an update might be available. 57:15 "i wish they had a ground tracking station there." What you don't know is that they are tracking it, but with satellites...:) 1:00:00 well, this is where i'll leave you. Have fun.
