Pretty much every audiophile review I've seen does confirm the Airpods Max sound better than the XM4, but that's not saying much as the XM4 is too bassy and lacks detail. They usually compare the sound of the Airpods Max to being slightly behind the AKG K371, which is $150 (but sounds awesome for the price)

I mean kind of? I don't have a degree in economics or anything but different currency values doesn't necessarily mean they're paying different amounts, especially in developed countries. Yeah sure the Australian Dollar is worth less, but pay rates may be higher to adjust for this (there are price differences depending on product availability and a million other reasons, also living in Australia doesn't exactly help) I'm not 100% sure if this is accurate for Australia specifically but it's usually the case, especially with countries that have super low currency values. A great example is Japan's yen

I really don’t get why dank keeps talking about Sony’s touch controls as bad, it seems pretty intuitive to me; swipe up/down for volume up and down, swipe forward and back to either skip track or go back, cover the right ear to temporarily enable ambient mode and turn down what is being played, and finally download tap to play/pause/pick up calls/end calls. It made so much sense that it took about 2 minutes to learn

The volume one is stupid. One swipe increases volume by one unit only, instead of being continuous - so you have to swipe a lot. Then the tap to pause is awful. The are for you to tap is like one cubic centimeter, so you’ll be missing it all the time. It always took me like 5 times to get it right on my XM3s.
