The launch of SpaceX’s Crew Dragon capsule to the International Space Station on May 30th marked the first time that NASA astronauts took off from U.S. soil since 2011. The event also represented the first time a commercially designed and built spacecraft carried astronauts, an achievement that SpaceX and Boeing have vied for for years under NASA’s Commercial Crew Program.

NASA predicts an increase in global drought. This will effect mankind's freshwater supplies that are already stressed. It will also effect food production. Global food production is also threatened by the oil supply getting tight. The discovery of oil peaked in 1964. At some point demand will exceed supply. This will effect food production as food and oil being linked 3 ways. Chemicals made from oil and gas that enhance food production. Energy for farm machinery and transport. Drought and oil supply problems mean mankind should prepare for global famine. I think it highly likely problems here on Earth will negatively impact space exploration. Regards Gray

Oh make no mistake. Space X won't just be doing business with NASA. There's a reason the Dept of Defense 5 years ago put a billion into developing "Future Command" in TX, a 1 billion dollar tech base that will centralize and innovate practially all of the DOD actions for cyber warfare, etc. And ironically Tesla decides it's re-routing all operations to? TEXAS. Billions and billions and potentially billions more. All govt contract and sub contracts. Elon Musk just in the last 6 months overtook Jeff Bezos as the world's richest man. Why? Space X, but also government contracts both disclosed and covert. Truly the real life Iron Man. No longer make believe, it's fact. And it's beautiful because Musk truly is a genius that likely will invent ways to save the planet

Boeing is an "Old Boy" management model, a model of self-evident business insanity actually that creates as many problems as it fixes. When a company has leadership that are a bunch of thugs and bullies attempting to manage real mature professional men and women who genuinely care about what they do, but who don't get the real support they need to do what needs to be done right, the first time, you end up with a Boeing like company that is destined to failure. We've seen it over and over and over again. Old money only know one way, aggressive beating of it's people and poor mouthing when it comes to supporting what's right. Bullying and pushing in a non-supportive way is long outdated. The workforce is a long more advanced then some thing.

You do know about 60-70% of commercial aircraft flying today are made by Boeing... If you think they can’t build safe passenger aero planes, then I’d suggest you don’t get on one anymore because chances are it’s made by Boeing. Also have you ever heard of the International Space Station or the Space Shuttle? Yeah, Boeing built. Let alone the majority of spacecraft in space today...

Having Boeing competing with Space X in the race to send astronauts to ISS, makes my skin crawl with horror. Because wasn't that the reason for the MAX 737 debacle that cost lives? I can hardly trust Boeing for safety reasons anymore. And now they want to send humans to space? Whoah, the documentary about how Boeing takes a lot of shortcuts to make the delivery schedule, makes my skin crawl with horror for allowing them to even build a space capsule. I still can't forget, for example, if a bolt doesn't fit and Boeing employees just whack it with a hammer to make it fit. Can you trust a company that has a history of cutting corners to meet the schedule? NASA gave Boeing more money possibly because of their long history of working together. SpaceX is a new kid on the block and they successfully send humans to space with a lot less money. And btw, the SpaceX rocket can land back again on the designated platform. How cool is that?

It is the different way they build and use their vehicles: -Spacex builds and tests as they go along. Plus they test at certain points on sub assemblies. And once again after full assembly. Their vehicles work. -Boeing tests components as they are made. And they depend on the everything to be perfect after that with no mistakes or other issues. The parts are all acceptable therefore the assembled whole is acceptable. (I admit it would be so in a perfect world) Boeing assumes they are perfect. That is not the case as their product fails in many areas. The Astronauts that went with Boeing and Starliner look to be still years away from getting into space. The chief pilot has already left their program, looking like he will not space again. The remaining Starliner astronauts can not ride on a Crew Dragon because of their earlier criticism of Spacex. SO It is Roscosmos or SLS for them or not at all.

SpaceX has the clear advantage over the likes of Boeing and even Nasa due to the one thing entrenched legacy industries fear the most... Youth and Youthful minds. Their is a reasony why college is so expensive, why we dont make it free like other nations.. Young bright minds can tear down long established industries. Upsetting the income of the wealthy. And radically changing business markets and the overall industry as a whole. College extreme costs is ment to place these young minds in great debt, to derail their effort to usher in the new. to upset the balance of power. They deflate their efforts by debt and time. Great debt takes great time to resolve and once resolved your likely no long on a path to achieve ones dreams. Youth is the biggest threat to a stable yet entrenched economy. China on the other hand takes avantage of this. Look how fast china can move on producing products. from scratch. or replicating new products on the market. They can do so because they've empowered and thus exploited the sheer breakneck speed, talent and minds of their youth. The old simply cant work as fast. In terms of SpaceX , we are talking about so many young who would've left college and not find work, in the industry they've studied for. And for what few hires would typically go to peoples of long experience, the older. SpaceX sought the opposite. the youth, bright minds to solve old problems in new ways. And work at breakneck speed. This is why they're committed to doing things differently, doing things that were only dreamed of, and yet, their making it possible. Nasa would've never considered the things spacex is doing. The old are limited by their lack of vision. And the youth are seeing beyond the stars.
