Complete Guide To Starship: Falcon 9 VS Starship. What's new? What's different?

SpaceX is taking everything up a notch with Starship. This thing is the ultimate challenge in aerospace engineering, a FULLY and rapidly reusable super heavy lift launch vehicle, capable of taking 150 metric tonnes to low Earth orbit.
But Starship’s ultimate goal goes way beyond just terrestrial orbital ambitions, Starship is the first vehicle designed to actually take human beings to Mars and back again.
In order to achieve this absolutely bonkers goal, SpaceX has had to employ a litany of new technologies, use new materials, develop the most advanced rocket engines ever made and come up with some wild ideas that have never been tried before… and maybe for good reason.
So today I wanted to go over all of these new technologies and compare it to SpaceX’s Falcon 9 and Falcon Heavy to help point out what things are new, what things are different and what they’ve learned from the Falcon family that will apply to Starship in order to really understand just how ambitious this project is.
We won’t be just scratching the surface here, in fact we’ll actually be taking you inside the rockets and showing you basically every single part and going over all of them with a fine tooth comb so you can learn as much as possible and have a definitive guide to Starship.

I would like to see a lay down version of the Lunar Starship that has modular connections to turn it into a moon base. Perhaps send some construction robots ahead to prepare the site with flat landing area and trenches to lay down base sections inside with some protection. The robots could then cover the base sections in a thin layer of lunar material for partial radiation protection. Steel Starship sections should be strong enough to hold shape with some reinforcement ribs. Just need to figure out a way to lay them down gently.

Starship will eventually succeed if it occurs before Elon dies, goes broke (totally), or is commited to an institution. Persistance counts, especially when coupled with intelligence. So he has till 2050 or so. I suppose the SEC, the courts, and some disgruntled investors could take control of SpaceX and change the goals. Bunch of short sellers (not actually investors...short selling isn't investing) tried this by coopting the SEC with Tesla.

At about 4 seconds in they show the spacex logo. So look at it closely. the first 3 letters are: Spy .... (not spa). Then you have a C (3) and you have and E but it's broken into a C with a line above it. So you got your CC or 33 (aka: freemason main number). Then an X well that could be a lot of things. An upside down cross, breaking the dome symbolism, or a chevron. So that's one idea. The second is: SpaceX. Well X typically in english in the symbol for "no". So Space No. Or No space. So their flat out telling people there's no space. Then spacex broken into 2 words: Spa cex. Or Spa Sex. Again these are just theories. But it's bizzare. Also look up: Electric cars catch fire. Like death traps or something. Anyway food for thought.

Simple: if you're going to run tankers, then same thing for landing. Partially top off. Then you have tons of propellant to spare, to cushion for a non-optimal confluence from sideways drag/belly flop/overflop/straighten flop/last second blast. Still do those; it just forms a "fuel reserve" for extra cushion blast if everything else doesn't go PERFECTLY. Another possibility: don't rendezvous with a tanker ship; have tank(s) in geo - "filling stations." Consider if it would be easier to refuel from a tank array than from a tanker, with many reasons - including if the tanker can't launch.
Bill Woo
Bill Woo Pirms 23 dienām
One more for you, no charge: Rather than perform the most complex and perilous operation in aeronautical history to bring the cabin for the last ~10,000 feet, just eject a human filled capsule with parachutes. Just like ejecting a satellite payload, but in the upper atmosphere, following the plasma adventure. Still do everything as is, still retrieve Starship; but the human margin of safety goes up immensely, albeit with costs/tradeoffs.
Bill Woo
Bill Woo Pirms 23 dienām
I should say, "Still do OR ATTEMPT those" - because what if any (and I mean any) one of those steps is unavailable or does not sufficiently succeed? And after everything you could repurpose the unused emergency fuel. You're welcome, E.
